'85 Galley O/H cabinet end cap fabric replacement

We want to replace the end cap fabric in the galley overhead cabinets to match new upholstery (85 Sovereign 34'). Appears there are 4 or 5 screws inside the cabinet holding it in place. It appears the fabric insert would just fall off/out if the screws were removed and could be a real pain trying to get back together. Has anyone replaced the original thin fabric (probably matched the old drapes) with a heavier upholstery fabric with good results?

Yep. The screws hold a light piece of plywood the fabric is stapled to.
We just covered over the old fabric with new and put it back in place.
