'83 sofa back piece folds out

we took out our sofa forgot to take pics had it recovered & it came back in two pieces - we don't remember how to put it back together - does anyone out there know how? also, we are looking for curtains - any suggestions? the orginals were thrown away by accident when we moved

I have pictures of mine but it's one piece so I doubt I'll be much help. Some pictures are in my blog. I have more pictures if they look promising.
