You could try e-mailing Dave Schumann at the Mother Ship...try DSchumann@airstream.com

He is very helpful, and will respond in a day or two.

The man who did the upholstry in my 78 Argosy, does vintage classic cars. He had never done anything in a trailer before, but was willing to try. He sent me to the wholesale fabric shop and they let me go through all of their warehouse of fabrics until I found what I wanted. They even cut pieces from any bolt I liked so I could bring them home and decide. I saw lots of very vintage materials that day. It's only about 7 hours down here
Seriously, I'm certain you could find this type of business up there also. If you have pictures or samples of the material you are considering, I can put you in touch with the guy who helped me.

Don't have any pictures but at Vintagetrailer.com on the second page they have all of the pictures. It's commercial grade tweed, reminisant of a 40s pullman railroad club cars.

HERE is a link to a photo of the fabric you are referring to. I too, would love to find a source for this and/or similar upholstery fabrics.

As I recall, the fabric that is used in the 75th Anniversary is more of a knit-style tweed, not a woven tweed like the one shown. It has more of a fuzzy velour/velvet texture than a basketweave texture. You really don't see the weave itself much at all. The color is what provides the texture...not the weave.

As far as a resource, I haven't found one...but I haven't looked too hard either.

I agree. Perhaps do a search for "boucle" weave fabrics, as that has the knobby texture you're be going for.

I imagine David Winick (he was the designer of that Anniversary model, right?) might also be able to tell you what he spec'ed out for the fabrics, if you asked nicely.

I think it is a boucle fabric. It almost looks like Herman Miller 'Iota'

I will call the Mothership on Monday to see if I can find the name and vendor of the fabric.
