1965 Wall Sconce Prob

This otherwise perfectly functioning sconce was hit with a cushion and the metal cone section pulled loose from the base. I removed the mounting plate and pulled the wire taught which seems to be the only thing that holds the light in place and allows it to swivel and rotate...the tension of the wire. What I can't figure out is what held the wire tension as there does not appear to be any broken parts. The light still works but obviously does not function properly. Has anyone had to fix this issue before?

Thanks all!

Same problem here, some have super glued them in place but that defies the swivel.

Sorry lots of commiserating but no solutions.

I have one from my '66 that I don't plan to reuse.

I repaired the ones on my Bambi by disassembling. On mine there was a thin threaded nut that could be re- tightened. Sorry, no pics.
