1958 window cranks

Question: I have a 1958 flying cloud. The window cranks that it came with font seem to match up with the hole in the window frame. It almost as if someone swapped the original operators out. Can anybody show me what cranks I should have?

Thanks!

cranks

I have a 57 Overlander and I am sure mine are all original. I have 2 types. The crank on the left was stripped so I have to repair it with the nut . Those cranks are on my small windows, and the ones on the right are on all the larger windows.

Thanks. Those are the same ones I have. All mine are missing the handles. What's odd is that there is only one hole in the track. So either they were never properly screwed in or the screw broke off and rusted over to where I can't see it. I will drill and bolt them on like you did. Thanks again, very helpful.

Window cranks

I have a 1958 flying cloud that I am looking for 3 window cranks, I have tried unsuccessfully trying to find them, I need complete mechanisms, any help locating these would be appreciated.

Good luck. I have the mechanisms but no handles. I haven't seen them anywhere. I currently operate them with a large flathead screwdriver.

No, I wasn't clear. In my trailer I have the mechanisms but am missing the handles. I don't have any spares. Sorry.

I have a 1958 Flying Cloud. I have lots of windows. Three of the cranks don't work and I am missing a couple more handles. I wa going to order some from Vintage Airstream. Is there a reason these won't work?

From my searches, you will need a time machine set to 1958, stop by the factory and grab some. Otherwise, look for donor trailers being parted out. I haven't come across any to date. Going on two years looking for them.

I ordered the vintage trailer supply replacements. They have mixed reviews. They are smaller then the originals. Some people have complained they strip out easily. I have one in my trailer and two originals. Time will tell if it holds up. Like I said, they look wimpy compared to the originals, but they do work.

i have only been looking for a couple of months but trust me i have searched, feel your pain, there is a airstream restoring company here locally, but no luck, i think they are hoarding them, i will try the wimpy ones if i get desperate, got a feeling might get lucky on a lead locally here, if i do will let u know, thanks again for the support, i 've been told to get used to this issue on old parts, but i got lucky finding this trailer, great condition for 54 years old, it already been remodeled inside and the outside is in great shape, just got a couple of small leaks. i will have pictures up soon to show off.
