More boondocking locations in Colorado??

Colorado is such a wonderful state with all those mountains and forests. Surprised that more boondocking locations haven't been described.

Colorado Rockdocking is better

Airstream 25:
You need to invest in a DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteer for Colorado. Locate the BLM and National Forest property and you can find plenty of places to set up your 25 footer. The $19.95 investment will pay off on the first camping spot you find.

There are plenty of RV Parks if you are not too adventurous with your easy to manage 25 feet on the majority of Colorado county roads- gravel and asphalt. When we leave for a camping trip, we NEVER plan where we are going to be camping. Some places you might want to stay just for the evening and others two or three days may not be enough time.

For an ice breaker, try the Taylor Park Reservoir north of Gunnison. Lots of open space around the lake and pullouts on the way up along the river. Bring a fly rod as there are BIG trout and LITTLE ones to work with.

BLM and National Forest property

Ray,
Wow, that thread lay fallow for over a year.
Thanks for your tips.

I don't think the most Coloradoans want to give up their favorite spots!

It's not true boondocking, but darned close. Dry camping at Williams Fork Reservoir. The capsit are open and not too on top of each other. Large trailers can get in with no problems, and you can pull up onto the beach in some places and right next to the water in others. There is also a dump station on the way out, but no fresh water available.
