Our Airstream's godmother is in Quartzite for the RV show. She now works for Oliver. Please tell her that Hank and Lois send their love... She's a real nice lady!
Some Q trivia. Hi Jolly Cemetery. The Hi Jolly cemetery is named after Hadji Ali (or Philip Tedro),a camel master employed by the Army during the late 1850's during their trial use of camels to cross the desert of the southwest, who is buried there. The pioneer section contains many of the graves of the early pioneers of Tyson's Well/Quartzsite.
Great posts Jim. Thanks for taking us around the town with you. How about a visit to the glass lady next...
Pictures from a 4CU rally in Qtown last spring.
Tyson's well stage station(Now a museum). Built around 1866,the well provided much needed water for travelers and livestock, and rest, meals and overnight stay for those on the Arizona Stage Company(Later the California & Arizona Stage Company). In 1893,this became the town's first Post Office, postmark "Tysons."
Weather for the next 10 days low 70F and SUNNY.Is that great or what?
GEE but it's good to be home!!! Got back around 1700 hrs...went to happy hour late, but made it...Jim and Brian sure have let the neighborhood go to the SOBs...gone two days, and Q has become INFESTED...everywhere...
Coming back home from Happy Hour, I passed a BIG MoHo towing a trailer with what I think was a Dusenberg(sp?)...now parked in the take-over area near Jim...wonder if it was one from the Barret-Jackson auction?

Well the RV rigs just keep rolling in 1000+ aday. For the last 2 days. Looks like Q is the WOODSTOCK for old farts. WE still have the booze. We still have the drugs.(Only now they are prescriptions). The sex I have found out I have out lived my working parts. The music I can only hear with the volume turnd all the way up. But the weather is grate in the low 70's, so rock on.
Met a guy in his late 80's, today...working on his 4th AS('75 International)...been coming out here in the 4CU area forever...cabinet maker by trade...visited with him and his friend for about an hour...he pulled up a chair for me as soon as I walked up...seemed pleased to get a gummy flamingo. Has no use for organizations like WBCCI...
BUSY day, today...I won AND lost playing myself a game of horseshoes...have had to get up at least 3 times to move the chair into optimal sun exposure...and Happy Hour is still looming on the horizon...This life could wear me out if I don't start learning to pace myself...

Anton Hagely's General Merchandise Store. The old adobe at the corner of Main St and Moon Mountain Rd was built by Anton Hagely in 1893.A canvas addition at the back of the building was rented to the state for use as a school.Adjoining the building on the west side by a breezeway was the Hagely Hotel where Anton and his wife Viktoria lived. The hotel was destroyed and the store was damaged by the flood of 1919.
