Western NC Forest Service Camping

I am interested in RV boondock camping with my 26 RBT in Western NC on NFS lands. Any good safe places appreciated.

I can't help you with this issue, however, I would like to ask you about your trailer. This model is on my short list, so just wondering how you like it, any problems, especially with the macerator, etc. Plus, how many A/C units do you have/need?

Thanks,

Campground In Western NC

This is a beautiful campground in Western NC near Brevard. It is very popular and in a great area near waterfalls and Dupont State Forest.
Not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for but would be a great place to start looking around the area.

I love the 26RBT. There was a loose wire on a toilet connection on our first trip but an easy fix. The deadbolt lock is hard to operate but the other lock is good. Other than that the layout is perfect especially for two people. Remove the table leaf and you have a great place to hang out in comfort and watch TV or whatever.

Try Indian Boundary Campground, about 10 miles from Tellico Plains, TN going toward NC on the Cherohala Skyway.

Hi,

Get Allstays for your phone or pad and spend some time looking around. Campsites and locations with photos and reviews. Both private and state. Even national. We use it all the time. RVParky is another great app. rvparky lets you map your route. Allstays has a small charge, but RVParky is free.

We also have the 26 RBT. Crossed the country twice already at different times of the year. 3 months each time. Get some Boeshield and shoot it into the door handle and deadbolt areas. Makes everything very happy. Also good for your step hinges and any other hinges. Aerospace 303 protectant for the rubber around all the windows is great. You can even use it on the propane cover top. For the rock shields covering the windows I use Plexus cleaner and polish.

I went off topic a little.

Check the website for the US Forestry Service in Asheville, NC. They have info on their site about camping areas in and around Pisgua National Forest and the Cherokee Indian Reservation.

Usually around this time of year they start looking for camp hosts at some of these remote areas too.
