VHB installation in winter

Can anyone point me to info on installing VHB for solar panel feet in winter. I have found good info from manufacturer and sources that state the temperatures required, and they are warm.

Others have stated you can use heat guns to warm surface and preheat.

It is winter in Colorado, I would like to install panels over winter so we are ready to go when spring sets in, but I am nervous as to whether this is smart, and if I should wait until ambient air temp is in 50-60 degree F range?

Any advice appreciated.

Thx

One thing you can try, if you know one good, otherwise you can ask to "rent", an automotive garage park it inside before closing on Saturday and be there for opening on Monday and quickly install the VHB, if you can go across a long weekend even better. Of course you'd have to have everything marked out and ready to go.

If you can't do this, I would not try it with the attachment of solar panels until you've had enough temp duration, I used some for holding down some fasteners and put it on slightly too cold and it didn't last, redid when it was warmer and everything has been good since.

Be VERY CAREFUL about moving the VHB bond back into low temperatures too soon. Although the tape is very sticky and will bond immediately, it does not reach full bond strength for at least 24 hours in conditions above the minimum ambient specs.

Better safe than sorry!!
