Travelling from Palm Springs to Winnipeg, Manitoba
Hi
I'm travelling from Palm Springs, CA along I-E40 to Oklahoma City then going north through Wichita Kansas.... and North on Hwy 29 to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Can anyone recommend some good overnight stops along the way?
(I'm pulling a 25 ft Safari)
I know there is a great boondocking spot on the North side of I-40 between Ashfork and Williams. I just don't know which off ramp. There aren't a lot so perhaps you could get off on a couple if you cannot find anything else.

Nice rest area between Williams and Flagstaff.
Little America in Flagstaff (Butler Ave) has a large parking area for 18 wheelers and RVs.
Meteor Crater RV park between Flagstaff and Winslow is a nice park with reasonable rates.

Try the McClellan Creek National Grassland off I-40, about 20 miles west of the OK line. There are RV hookups, a nice lake bordered by shade trees, miles of grassland around, and not much else. It's about 3 miles off the interstate at it's own dedicated exit. About 10 miles east of the park is McClellan, Tx. The Red River Steakhouse is there. Good food for reasonable prices.

It's an adventure holiday !
Any more suggestions would greatjy be appreciated....
Thanks ....Peter
Hey there. I was checking out your route, and was wondering which route you took to get back to Palm Springs. Did you just shoot straight down through Washington, Oregon, and then Cali? I am planning a somewhat similar trip, and was wondering if this would be the best plan of action. I heard the Oregon coast is absolutely gorgeous, and I figured I would stop at a few National Parks in Northern California.
