The Boondocking Movie...

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but I thought this forum would be the appropriate place. We all know every RVer and/or full-timer should see The Long, Long Trailer and Lost in America to learn of life on the road and why one ditches the rat race. Right now there is a movie specifically aimed at Airstream owners - The Martian. It stars Matt Damon as the first boondocker on Mars and true to form, carries out all the tasks we are all familiar with: rationing supplies, dealing with black sewage, solar panels, no showers, deciding between fuel consumption and heating the trailer, calculating travel time, and leaving a favorite campsite. There is even a key scene where I think the director, Ridley Scott, chose to insert actual footage of BoldAdventure's attempt to replace his AC unit. Yes, the astronaut is on Mars but other than that fact, we've all been there, done that.

Oh, and two words: duct tape.

I loved the book. I think I even recommended here awhile ago: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f42/...ml#post1630187

I haven't seen the movie yet. Wife and I really want to, but this is the price we are paying full-timing with two under two. We aren't ready to leave our kids alone, and they're not ready for a theater. Well, we're not those people that bring babies into the movies.

So, I'll probably have to wait till March or whenever it hits Blu-ray.
