Don't see anything in Texas??

If someone says that, my first thought is that they must have flown over the State, and have not spent anytime here.

Have your friends try TravelTex Home to start with. If they don't find anything of interest there they should do a google search using the search terms Travel Texas.

Tell your friends to bring cool clothing, it gets hot here in the summer, and a camera. They will need to take pictures to remind them of what they have seen in Texas.

Hello Hans -- Are you talking about campground reviews (south)? These are free will offerings by members and not necessarily comprehensive. If anybody has suggestions they might want to know what part of the state your friends will be traveling.

An alternative could be to look at the state parks website. Woodalls makes a campground guide available at any RV store -- mine is a few years old and I still use it if I call ahead. TravelTex Home puts out a great general guide to different parts of the state.

A displaced Texas native,
Bob

That's different. Search on these keywords: cheap free Texas. You'll see some results!

Find Texas under the "Southwest" portion of Boondocking forums.

As Coastal Texans, our favorite free spot is the Padre Island of course! The best spots are on 4x4 beaches though, so come prepared. After a good rain, which we just had, there are few places you can't go, and if you have 4x4, you're all set. Your favorite seach engine will have all the info you need.

First, congratulations on your friends visiting god’s country. But, after all, Texas is bigger than France. Where are they planning to visit? There is a lot to see and many places to stay.

Here are my suggestions

Texas has two of the most beutiful and interesting national parks that I've been too. Yeah...I've been to Yellowstone, etc, but to me nothing quite compares to Big Bend National Park in January--March.

I also love the ability to camp for free on the beach at Padre Island National Seashore! Of course you've got to do this in the winter when the sand is packed, but I love being able to take our AS 10-15 miles down the beach to where there is nobody within eye-sight.

When you make it our way...just send me a message through this website or to mswanda@satx.rr.com and I'll see if we can meet up with you.

Mitch
