Looking for ski resorts that allow overnight parking in their lot.

Suggestions?

Thanks!
Jason

Most do not due to snow plowing operations that has to be done at night when the lots are empty. Maybe you can find the exception, but my suggestion is to park in a campground that is open. You would not have water but you could plug in your electric to run your furnace and have use of the shower/lavatory facilities.

I have been to a lot of ski resorts. Never remember one allowing overnight public parking. Reason, liability and after hours plowing.

Tiger Run in Breckinridge, Co not a ski resort but close.

But then why try to tow an Airstream in the winter months. Kinda dangerous and they are not a 4 season trailer. Cheaper and less hassle to rent a condo.

The ski resorts are CROWDED during the season. The interstate I-70 is CROWDED during the season. The Loveland and Vail passes over the mountains are STEEP and slick. Trucks are required to chain up with or pending snow falls. The highway patrol frowns on anyone who doesn't have winter driving equipment on their vehicle, e.g. snow tires, chains, AWD, and the like. It ain't no place for a trailer except in dry pavement conditions.

There are RV parks in the Denver area. And then make day trips to the ski areas. Not great but doable.

I've stayed at Tiger Run and it is quite nice, but never stayed there during the winter.

Here is a knucklehead in a ski resort parking lot. Anyone got a shovel?

Jason try a blog called "just 5 more minutes". They are Airstream owners and skiers and in Airforums also under a similar name.

Taos Ski Valley appeared to allow RV's to dry camp in one section of their parking area when I was there New Years 2014. There was a row of 10-15 of them in the top parking area nearest the base facility.

You'd have to find out for sure before going. TSV was sold a couple of years ago, and the new owner rebuilt a LOT of the infrastructure.

As with casinos, a number of ski resorts decided to build their own RV parks in order to cash in on what they see in their parking lots. And it's not just a winter thing. Because of warming average temperatures, they can't run their skiing operations as long in the winter. The retrofitting is thus to capture winter RVers in the parking lots, and to capture summer RVers there for new mountain bike runs and other summer activities involving their mountains.

Bottom line, though, is that you should find out definitive information before you head out.

Mt hood Meadows, and Hoodoo Both allow overnight parking,
Hoodoo has full hookups, but the skiing is much more limited.
Mt Bachelor also has overnight stay.

Ski Resorts - West Coast list

There's more than you think. This list is mostly for the West Coast.

RV List

Not sure about East Coast. I grew up there and didn't recall ever seeing RVs in the parking lot.

The Mary Jane side of Winter Park lets you, but you have to call in advance and they will send you a free pass. But to get there you have to go over Berthoud Pass, which should only be attempted when the roads are clear. Don't even try it if snowpacked. Most people will only go in spring with an RV

For me, the idea of towing my Airstream in snowy weather and exposing it to all the corrosive salt slush on the road gives me chills.

There are several RV parks in Salt Lake City with lots of vacancies in the winter. From these parks you are within 45 minutes of 6+ world class ski resorts, plus several great restaurants and clubs in SLC. I know of no resorts that will allow you to camp overnight, and don't know why you would want to.

If you can make it up to Canada Revelstoke is an amazing resort and allows overnight parking.

Stevens Pass ski area in Washington has an entire lot dedicated to RV camping. Some folks spend the winter.
