My plastic SPAM saver fell out of the top cabinet and BROKE!!! Is there life after SPAM saver boxes...?...OH, wait...the new ones are called 'baggies'...don't know what our(note:"our") final SPAM production will be, but I GUARANTEE it will be blended...mmm!!!can almost taste it the second time.
Louis and Sergio: we'll be there with flamingos and whistles...and a bit of desert dust... ok, LOTS of desert dust...don't have a 'California Mop", like some of our high-falutin' neighbors...but, then, I'm Trailer Trash, and PROUD of it...

It is California DUSTER not mop, that is what us high-falutin folk call them. I guess only trailer trash would be called it a MOP.
We blew into town…..and found the “Desert Circus” has become a “Zoo”. Love the clowns, but we were a week or two late and the critters (HUGE motorhomes) overran the place. Alaska plates on a 22 foot ’64 Aluminum Toaster seemed WAY out of place. My goodness, I’ve seen cities smaller than that! What fun!! Friendly Folks.
Spotted the 2 Airstreams together and one off by itself. Stopped by…No body home. Or Power Nap time?
Boondocked way out on BLM land (I think). Amazing desert sunrises and sets. 75 degrees F in January…that’s like a HOT summer day.
They’re right.. everything is there. Bargman taillights to bison skulls to 8n Ford tractor parts.
Snagged ‘47 Indian Motorcycle generator…$20.
Pork Chop-on-a-stick…..DELISH!!
Thanks for hospitality offers, friendly place, next year we’ll stay for weeks.
Now at Grand Canyon…El Tovar dining is EMPTY this time of year.
Great fun place. Beautiful Sonoran Desert. PARTY ON!
Safari64,
Really sorry to have missed you...come on back, next year's 'whatever' Quartzsite rally, and we'll show you the hot spots...mike

Well it time to hit the trail.I will pull out tomorrow and start heading to Dead Horse State Park to the 4CU rally. You can find us on the forums in the "RallyZone" under "WBCCI rallies",click on" Dead Horse 3 the Luau". Lot of folks have pulled out and things are quiet. The one thing I see is there are a lot of BIG Motor Homes still for sale in the RV lots.Wounder how many they sold here this year? For you first timers and "Snow Bird" this is one grate place to spend the winter or two weeks. You can stay on BLM land from the 15th of Sept.till the 15th April for $180 you can't pass that up.The shortest that I think anyone should stay is 2 weeks you can do that FREE on BLM land this will give you time to explore the area.(or you can stay in any of the RV parks) Please DO NOT be afraid to Boondock it is the best and to get started all you need is your Airstream and a 2000 ei Honda generator. You can learn the finer skills of Boondocking from other folks that are here. Once your in your campsite a good place to start exploring Q is at the Tyson's Well Stage Station Museum and also pick up a QIA (Quartzsite Improvement Association) Events Schedule for your social life. This is one good place to hang out for the winter. I hope you all had fun with this thread and we will see you down the road.Ride easy. The trail is long.
Yep, Jimmini pulled out, quiet qnd slow...I will probably save a bundle in not driving over to happy hournow's it's just the AS MoHo folks...
Warming up nicely...a few distant clouds, stratus or cirrus or something...may have to go play a couple of holes of golf at the local 'country club'...wedge, 9-iron, or 7-iron?...the decisions are downright scary...

Desert golf is a lotta fun, if you carry enough spare balls...have donated several to the desert gods(who are, apparently, not kind to wayward balls in the summer, as I found one that looked like a 50 minute microwave victim)...have had overcast, leading into rain most of the afternoon...still going on...makes it real hard to work on a tan, and keeps putting my smokes out...if it doesn't stop soon, you'll have to put up with a lot more of me...

So glad you asked...when you were growing up(ok, like I ever DID), did your mom have one of those hand dusters with...oh...3" mop-like tendrils on it...about 12-16" long, usually not white, but brown or reddish...Jim's is reddish, and he uses it on his trailer and TV..."BUT WAIT: THERE'S MORE..." he also has a smaller one for inside the trailer...works pretty slick...he did a demo on my unit, and if it hadn't rained really good today, I'd had to drive to town to find one and finish the job...kinda like letting someone use YOUR trailer for the polishing seminar, only not as serious...
Lookin' forward to settin' and swappin' smart stuff with you guys.

Reason: Damn 'puter is having a spelling problem, again
Fair Warning...we are headed into Q, today, to look for that certain special white elephant...
The rain quit sometime after midnight...everything is clean, and the following green-up should be spectacular...may have to mow, soon...
Water was running in most of the washes, and Richard wasn't here, so it had to be the rain...

Don't go out on the ice flows in the washes like the idoits in Ohio did on the lake. See you in Dead Horse if you can get across the washes to get out. Sure miss the BIG Q.
Lake Q, at the north end of the Old Yuma Road, is so full it developed a Lake Q, Jr...water about 6-8 " deep...the icebergs had already been washed downstream when we drove through, and I think I may have seen an Ohioan with a paddle or a fishing rod...
NO DUST TODAY!!!and the rig has been nicely washed...just the way I like to do it...Leaving, tomorrow, for a slow mosey up to Dead Horse...well, that's the plan, anyway.

Thanks for all the pics and updates on this thread. We've never been to Quartsite and have done very little to check out Arizona. After reading an article on the area and checking out this thread it's on a must visit list for us.

DO NOT COME IN THE SUMMER. And plan to stay a week or more in Jan to see the big tent and all.
