jordandvm,
Sorry we missed you, but even sorrier you didn't get to slow down and smell the cacti...the fellow in the coat-only attire is Paul...a local bookstore owner, ex-skinnydancer, and a bit of a character, in his own way. I hope you get to enjoy Picacho...nice trails('cept the one over the top...).
If you didn't find it in Q-town, you didn't look enough, 'cause EVERYTHING is here if you wander enough...I found a replacement for our '89 shower hose vent valve...saw a LOT of town before I found it, but...THERE IT WAS!!!
Ya'll come back, when you have the time, and we'll show you what you missed...glass gardens, Erdman's cabin, rock walls in the space next to the middle of nowhere...there really IS a lot out here to see...
See you at DH3...

Well a another lazy day in Q.The best I could do was go get two propane tanks filled and do my 5 mile bike ride. Now just waiting for happy hour.(Yep it 5 oclock some where) Tomorrow the Old Car Show will open so I will go see what I can see there and at the Craft and Hobby show, all in the BIG tent. The weather today is 72F and SUNNY the next 10 day should be in the mid to upper 70's.Got to love it, just lay around in the SUNNY like a old dog and don't stop kickin till the clock stops tickin.
BUSY day, today...had a visit with Jim, a visit with Brian...went to the hardware store, grocery store, the post office, produce market, and still had enough time to flamingo an AS...think maybe it was a Bubble...no registration plate, but the license plate was from BC, and it couldn't have been more than 12' long...cute little buggar...Well, It's close enough to 5...on my way, Jim...

Ahem...just received a gift from Paul...besides an OUTSTANDING CD, there was a pic-portrait of my regal stature which won Honorable Mention at the last WBCCI(Y?) international rally...he even sent me the ribbon...How do they explain that away...? I'm honored, pleased, and wish Silverbear the best...ballsy submission, and to chip a piece of color off the ol' wally block was enervating!!! BAM, you are still the #1 for rewarding me first with the tiara(rides on the dash of the Tracker), the Tootsie Roll Pop bouquet, and the silver thingie that inhibits holding something worthwhile(like a libation) in the other hand...luv U 4 that...truly a woman that recognizes a fellow sister...er...brother...oh, what the heck...does anybody of significance REALLY care...? If yer significant, What are you doing judging us relevant folks on matters as important as TTQ??? Paul...THANK YOU!!!A cherished memento...
So, kazoos, anyone...>?...m

Today was just one nice day here in Q 75F and not even a breeze. In the hill around Q you could see all the dust trails made by the ATV's.It remined me of a part in the book Quartzsite no ordinary place. It has, " Over 100 men attempted to make their living by mining in the Quartzsite hills in 1932 and 1933 during the grate depression. You could see little clouds of dust all over the hillsides around here." I hope this does not happen to the good old USA again.
Yep, the sun rose this morning, just like it was predicted...guess I oughta put on a shirt, sometime...hmm...what to do with today...?

Just as it was for the Arizona Cardinals yesterday in the Supper Bowl,so it is in Q today the party is over. The shows in the BIG tent are done. The tent will come down this week. Many of the vendors are packing up to get out of town, most will be gone by the 8th of Feb. RV are on the road out of the desert today like some one flushing the toilet. I will be going on Wen.to the house to reload the trailer and get ready to go to the 4CU rally at Dead Horse on the 13th of Feb. On my bike ride today I went to Tyson Wash vendors area and as you can see not many folks buying. One thing I did find out today from one vendor that this year his sales where good but what has changed he had more cash sale than credit card sales, it was just a reverse from past years. I did find this vendor wanting to sell his 1999,33ft Airstream motor home.
Thanks for thoroughly entertaining me over the past month. I looked forward to each on-site report of the happenings in Q. I can't wait to see you both next week at Deadhorse.
