I hear ya, but no, and that's a crap resolution. Not your idea, but the thought of the necessity of it.

Ain't that the truth!

But it is even worse now, it is popular in some circles to deny that common sense even exists.....

This is the world we live in I guess.

Sooo.... I'm just gonna fire up the gennie and pull a Zip Dee chair up by the road, pop a top (not sure that's legal there either) and wait for the cherry top to come by, and offer a red pill.......

Pay for your spot one day at a time so you don't lose much if kicked out.

Too much trouble to break camp and head out of the park where you can fire up the generator for a while? Just a thought

I was camped in a Washington state park a couple years ago for a night while in route. I ended up taking a spot which was further in the back than some of the others. We ended up using our 2000i for a bit of time while winding down after a day of driving.

The next day while prepping to get on the road again I ended up talking to the campground host/ranger, who said that he hadn't even heard my generator running, but that the park had a 8PM nose ordinance. I apologized and he was okay since nobody had complained.

I thought it through while going down I-5 later that day and my generator was in the back of my truck with the tailgate up and the power cord just hanging over the bed rail, but the host/ranger drove by several times and apparently never even heard me running.

I like your idea though, get a lawn chair out and crack a beer, they will likely just give a warning anyway.

Good grief! -- Haven't been to Wisconsin; but I guess we'll be staying in National Parks and National Forest campgrounds when we go there.

Fortunately, out West, we are more tolerant with respect to generator use.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe somebody needs to get Scott Walker to reel in his states DNR.

This does not say "prohibited", just "typically not allowed", also that property managers have "full discretion for generator use". Right?

Wisconsin State Park System Generator use

Generator use is typically not allowed in Wisconsin State Parks. Property managers have full discretion for generator use. Any camper who needs to operate a generator because of a health condition will be required to take an electrical site if any is available and not use the generator unless an outage occurs. Because the available electric site is not in a preferred location is not valid justification for the camper refusing to accept that site assignment.

It would seem that basic courtesy and discretion, as to timing of your generator use, should leave you undisturbed, particularly if you are in a non-electric area. (Former government employees always read the fine print. )

Good luck,

Maggie
