Nascar Boondocking
Well, it's time for my 6 day Nascar boondock. Very excited about getting out there and putting the "Travestar Galactica" to use, finally got my dump valve replaced (which was a little more time consuming than I had thought) but the fridge and water heater still don't work and I will be installing the bunk bed while I am out there. Will be going on strict battery power and am interested to see how long I can make it last before recharge time. If anyone is going to be out here this weekend I would sure be happy to see another AS.

Just dropped it off at the races and I have to say that it looks dwarfed by all the huge toy haulers and MH's. But I think it looks the best, plus mine is the only 37 year old out there.

kinda strange how a Huge Vintage unit shrinks around the new stuff, huh? We are usually the smallest trailer but in '77, it was second only to the 31'er

Took my 76 to Talladega in 2001. 6 races since. Haven't recovered yet. Damn that was fun and I recommend an open mind.

I agree, it takes a long time to recover from a Nascar trip. Everyone that I know calls it my annual drunk fest because it's the only time I drink (and I do a lot of it). My brother in law keeps trying to get me to go twice a year but ooooooh no. Whoopee

Well, just got back from 5 days at Nascar boondocking and I must say that I am very pleased with the results. I never needed to recharge the battery at all and still have power. The water pump, blue boy and commode were in perfect working order as as was the stove and oven. Got the first of 2 original type bunkbeds installed on the first day and my 2 youngest slept in it with no problems. All total I had 6 of us in this trailer and were very comfortable. Now to get the fridge and water heater working.

That's great. One day I'd love to take mine up to Texas Motor Speedway for a race.

Bristol is a first class joint and you'll no doubt love it. Been camping there at All American Campgrounds for the past three seasons and loved it. Bring a mix of clothing for the Spring race as we've seen it all from snow to warmth. I'm taking several 'first timers' to DEGA this Spring and have offered fair warning of keeping open minds at this one. Have fun in Thunder Valley.

Zoomin....wow what a race... Dega you should never think "I know I did not just see that" because you will see that and soooooo much more. There is only one thing that applies there...anything goes and will go. Have a great time there too. We will be camping in the BMS owned campground with transportation to and from the race, which I hope will be great no moving trucks to and from the race conjestion.
