Maiden Boondocking Voyage
So it looks like I may have a really amazing spot to boondock with a friend of mine.
He owns a lake property in west Alabama on the warrior river...its in a gated area mostly still undeveloped...he has two pieces on it...I guess the way these are sold is you buy often a piece of property say a block or two off the water front, then with it you get a little piece with water front as well (of course some were all on and connected to waterfront.
His waterfront piece is amazing...we met up there today after work...I imagined in my mind access problems....it looks like its going to work out quite well. I will post a terrible terrible photo I took from the back part of the land with only a tiny view of the water....no idea why I did not take a good shot....but it looks great....pretty large area to pull in, then back another direction and pull out...
We will camp there the first weekend of October just friday evening through Sunday...he will pull my small fishing boat as well maybe and we can tie off the boat at the location for the weekend for our use (if we decide to bring it...likely will if at all possible).
He will later build a house on his main property and build a dock on his water portion...
There is in this spot not a person around for many acres in either direction!
It will be a “guy trip” to try the spot out first...I am really excited...for the camping and fishing to come, but also a weekend with no kid and no wifie (love her, but we all like our breaks, I give her 2 weekends a year and she does the same for me).
My kids are still very small, but as they get older, I want to find more boondocking spots...I am hoping I can find a nice spot(s) up in the mentone and little river canyon area in coming years....they have some amazing swimming holes up there if you all have never seen that part of Alabama.
