Madden Peak Road FR316 Durango and Mancos Colorado

We are planning a stop here since it is Memorial Day weekend and have no reservations past this point.

Any suggestions and so looking forward to this boondocking?

There are a few spaces along 316 and a few spaces down the first road to the right which is the old Denver & Rio Grande RR bed. But if the spots are taken, there may not be room to turn around, so don't go too far without scouting. Target Tree CG is near by.

The Iron Horse bike race is this weekend in Durango which brings hundreds of bikers to town so camping may be at a premium.

We arrived at Madden Peak and so far very few visitors. It appears there is a family of Mennonites here cutting down trees for I guess future firewood.

It is very beautiful here!
