Lums Pond State Park, Delaware
We stayed at Lums Pond State Park this weekend and found it to be a very nice park. The camping spaces were the largest I have seen. Each were at least 30 to 50 feet wide and just as deep. You parked on grass as only one or two were gravel and there are only five electrical hookups so one would need a generator or rely on batteries and/or propane. The roads in the campsite were great for biking or walking as they were all paved and had no pot holes.
A number of hiking and biking trails went around the 7 1/2 mile pond and are actively used. You could also rent kayaks and canoes. Fishing is popular on the pond either from edge or in boats. There is a boat launch and we saw a number of bass boats on the lake.
The campground is very close to a number of communities to include Wilmington, Newark and Middletown.
I should pointout that it only has one bath house and I suspect it could be heavily utilized later in the season.
