International Balloon Fiesta, Albuquerque, NM

This is technically not Boondocking, more like dry camping, when you attend with your Airstream. Anyhow, just posted an article on my blog about this annual event. You can read it by clicking here.

Enjoy!!

I just wanted to add a bit on the "Fiesta". The Sandia Casino sets aside a generous amount of their EAST edge parking lot for RV's during this time. They will have security ask for your information and give you a sheet of paper with some basic rules of behavior on their property. No charge. The Casino buffet is excellent. Their restaurant(s) are excellent. Their Craps dealers are excellent and at least two running in the evening... for those who know how to keep the house edge to a minimum.

I advise you go into the Casino and get a "Players Card". Then you are in their system... in the event you need a place to park and the security patrol needs to pick members from non-members.

We have parked on the way south and back north to Colorado at least four times a year. You will discover which areas are close to level and which need some levelers. When you exit Highway 25, go East to the Hummingbird Lane turn to the North. As you arrive to the Casino parking you will see, on the South side where RV's are parked. Find a spot, keep your area clean, pick up after your pets and we will all be welcomed in the future. Their gasoline station is on the South side and has always been the best price fuel in the area.

There are NO hookups while camping. Use the Casino restrooms which are clean, 24 hours. There is a water pump on the south side of the construction trailer on the northeast edge of the parking area.

Here's another 'International' Balloon Festival... International Balloon Festival, Leon Mexico - Leon Mexico - HotAirBalloon.com

A husband & wife 'team' friends of ours, are both balloon pilots and each have their own balloons...They have just shipped both of their complete balloons, baskets, burners, etc to Tuscon to be trucked on down to Leon, MX for this Festival...

The Leon Festival foots the bills for all the American Balloonists that attend, flights, rooms, etc...it's a really big deal down there each year, and my friends are going for the first time...

Fair breezes & happy landings!
