Necessity and imagination can bring one to mind. If you want to keep poop and paper out of your black tank you could:
Bring along a bunch of NEW UNUSED (ie no holes in them) plastic grocery bags.
Lift lid and ring, line bowl with plastic bag
Use facilities
Tie up bag tightly
Put bag in large trash bag
Place in locking covered canister secured to top of tow vehicle
Dispose of properly
I think any solution that involves plastic shopping bags would be even more harmful to the environment than simply using the toilet as intended and emptying into an RV dump. At least then the sewage will be properly treated and the water recycled.

Agree totally! Besides putting something in the trash, that doesn't belong there, for some unsuspecting person to have to deal with is so disrespectful.
Having the answer to the problem by inventing a composting toilet & then charging $1600 to buy it is beyond disrespectful. Let's just say every way of thinking could use a little tweeking.It's not the first time a great idea went down the tube because of cost or marketing or public opinion.Snagging an unwrapped bag of you know what is just as bad as sniffing a rose only to find it was cultivated in human excrement.Put a fancy name on it 'bio-degraded' & people will line up for miles to smell the delicate scent.Stay positive please.All the world's problems will not be solved,at least not tonight.Camp on.

It was something I had to do one time only when the flush mechanism quit on my toilet and as there were no facilities anywhere, it was the first thing that came to mind. Plus I brought the bag home with me, flushed the residue into the toilet and the bag went in my fire pit...

If worried about what goes into the black tank, you could always use the Bumper Dumper. Please stop the truck first so as no skid marks are left behind.

Sixteen hundred dollars would be pretty high indeed. As I recall, sixteen hundred is about what a boyfriend paid for his first VCR. This is one problem with new technology and ideas. It's usually quite high for the first generation or two and then prices start plunging to the level just about everyone can afford. Last time I checked a VCR sold for around forty bucks.
That is SO BEAUTIFUL!! I was looking at your photos, the one that shows the desk area, is the scooped out part so you can swivel the chairs around? Plus I love your solar set up. My Tradewind came with a small 75 watt solar panel and I wished I could add another panel, but with all the vents and fans, didn't think I could do it. Duh! Putting them side by side would work great. Wish you were coming to southern California area so I could see your trailer....
