Good key management
Most of you have no problem with your truck, car or RV keys. I need to call upon your clarity of mind. I have two pair of truck keys and two pair of camper keys. When camping where do you keep your spare pair of keys?

It's frustrating because there are so many.
With some fussing I was able to purchase an extra battery door lock and modify that so it would work on the water door. So I'm down to five keys for travel: truck, door latch, deadbolt, battery/water, and baggage.
I carry two complete sets plus an extra door latch key. I keep one complete set with me, and one set in a non-obvious location in the trailer, which varies from time to time. For example, sometimes I've placed the keys in the drawer with the silverware. The extra door latch key is in a hidden location accessible from outside the trailer. I've used various locations. At one point when the trailer was parked for extended periods, the key was inside one of the frame rails on a piece of black thread, so you had to know where the thread was and pull on it.
As you may know the door latch is prone to locking by itself when the door is closed quickly, so it pays to have an extra key somewhere. I had this happen once. Some years ago I broke off a truck key in the ignition cylinder which led to considerable delay while someone was sent home to get a replacement.

Ford trucks have a nice option... a keypad that lets you unlock the truck with a code. That gives the option of storing a set of trailer keys somewhere in the cab of the locked truck, always accessible unless you have a poor memory (or a dead truck battery, but then you have bigger problems). While I haven't yet had to use the spare set while camping, 2x I've driven over to the storage facility where the Argosy is parked without picking up the set I carry in my pocket when we're traveling or camping.

I keep a spare key for the Airstream in my vehicle. A spare key for the vehicle is wire tied onto the frame of the truck. All my vehicles has a spare key somewhere on the frame

Good evening, all!
Sometimes the truck keys are in my purse,
Sometimes they're in the door,
Sometimes they're in the ignition,
Or laying on the floor.
Sometimes they're in my pocket,
Where they jingle all about.
Or hiding in obscurity,
Causing us all to shout!
He has keys for mine,
I have keys for his,
Where they are at this moment,
Is one big keyed-up mess.
One day, I know, to a far-off land we'll roam,
We'll search ourselves and to find,
That we've left the keys at home.
After that, I'm sure we'll make a few spares.

Hi,
I keep one set of Lincoln keys in my pocket.
I keep one set of Safari keys in my other pocket.
I keep the spare set of Safari keys in my Lincoln.
I keep a spare Lincoln key in my Safari.
I keep the Lincoln's keyless entry code in my wallet.
I made spare Safari door latch and deadbolt keys, for just in case.......

I carry one set, and my wife has the other. Nobody steps outside the truck or trailer without their keys in their pocket.

If you want to hide the keys I will ask my wife but if you want to find them again I better not.

When Lucy is out on an Airstream adventure, SuEllyn and I each carry sets of keys for Lucy and the tow vehicle in use. Additionally, I carry a second tow vehicle key in my other pants pocket. There is also a complete set of Lucy keys secreted somewhere on Lucy's body. Our tow vehicles also have an exterior hidden key. We are determined never to be locked out or stranded.

That's the biggest problem with them. I know someone who uses them all the time and occasionally they fall off when going over a bump or something.
At times I have used, as an alternative, wire ties. I choose a small enough one that I can break it without tools if necessary. It limits placement but you can put them on a brake line up in the frame rail or someplace else where no one is going to look.
