First Boondocking..first Airstreaming

Thanks to all of you who have helped me through numerous noob questions I've had, I came back from my first AS trip, and fist boondocking today.

My plan was to boondock at Upper Paranagant lake in Southern NV, about 1.5 hours away, but that campsite/lake was unfortunatley closed due to some dam building, so we spent first night at an RV park.

The second night, we boondocked at Rachel, NV, which is right by the "extraterrestrial highway" where I ran my 10k race at midnight. Here are some pics.

There is no photoshopping involved in the last few pics

One big mishap is that my awning arm got bent....somehow. I could not bend it back enough to retract it all the way, but I just don't understand how that solid aluminum (?) rod got bent...I didn't even have it opened all the way when I noticed it. I had to zip tie it and hobble my way back...hmmm zip dee...not happy...I'm sure that this has happened before.

and the dumping....it was easier than I thought and my black tank remained relatively empty for some reason. Battery and fresh water went very well.

Great photos.

We bent our zip dee awning arms on our first camping trip too. Turns out that we were not raising the awning correctly. After giving me a stern lecture about not reading the owners manual, zip dee sold me a new set for $70 + shipping.
