Haha... what ever you want to do on your new rig, my wife is over all the upgrades. She thinks I am a nut, doing so much work to a 6 month old trailer....

So get your list ready, and let me know [emoji6]

Seems several of us are on a parallel course with upgrades. I've been considering lifting our trailer. At first I considered fabricating my own components and getting a friend to help weld it, but now I see the kits are marked down to $128 on etrailer so I'm placing my order. Thanks Rich for a helpful post --Frank

Well I think I just got motivated to order then as well at that price. Next question will be do I rent an impact gun and round up/rent a couple floor jacks and extra jackstands and spend a day on it? Just returned from visiting the new SLC AS Dealer to check out their service dept for possible repair of two panels (impressed) and they said it would be 4-5 hours labor at $140 an hour if I provide the kit. $560-$700 is probably enough for me to put up with sore joints and scraped knuckles. Sure wish there were more of the $400 (including parts) Oregon guys around.

Shop in Oregon

What is the Oregon shop? I'm in Boise, Idaho and it might make sense for me to work my way out there for an install. I want to do this, too.

McKay Truck, Trailer & RV, in Albany, Or (541) 928-3331

My install included the frame spacer kit #10 2.63T. The LP line is between the axels and they removed the line and reflare and reroute and leak test on the line.

I was very pleased.

PM me with any otehr info if you like. Total cost including kit was 378.00 but this was a year ago.

Lessons learned (re-learned) installing lift kit.
Buy or obtain a good impact gun. The heavy duty Milwaukee is everything they claim. At $300 it ought to be!
Start to finish it about 4 hours. In my case I had no obstructions on the inside rails of the frame. 30' FC.
15/16 open end wrench is necessary for holding the vertical bolts while tightening. I used a pair of vice grips to hold the wrench in place attaching wrench to frame, otherwise the wrench falls off just as you get ready to impact the nut. Horizontal bolts go in first and get tightened and torqued to 150 Foot lb. Vertical bolts next. Floor jack necessary, I didn't use any jack stands. Work on one axle at a time, leave the wheels on the other axle. One at a time.

My lift kit arrived today. Will be installing it at a friends who has a big enough shop to pull the trailer in and he has impact gun. Along with the tips posted here, I'm hoping it goes smoothly. --Frank

Good luck Frank, you will do fine. Sheriff1, I'm sure it will be fine, but when you do it that way, there is no way to get the axel "untorqued" or loose for the lowering, so it is a little different approach and the discussion Boxite and I started to have earlier in the thread. Glad it went well, and I agree the impact gun makes a huge difference, in hindsight I should have used this as an opportunity to upgrade mine....

I think you misunderstood, one axle is loose at both ends while trailer is supported by the second axle. Both spacers installed, one at a time then tightened.

Ahhhh, cool. That makes sense. How do you like it so far, did it give you the lift you were expecting.

Looks better with lift and will help clear curbs. Same as I did to our 27FB so I knew what to expect.

How did you hold up the trailer? Did you use blocks under the the axle you weren't working to raise the other, and use the floor jack to lower each axle one at a time?

Left the tires on the axle I wasn't working on, no chance of it falling on you.

darn, I was wondering how the gas line reroute would go on a 23d. I think I"ll drill my spring plates so I can route it directly through the lift block, adding some rubbing protection to it.

Stupid question, but is the white gas line flexible? Or is it a copper line?

Its a copper tube, encased in a white Pex like tube. I think the apex is protection.

That is correct. It is PEX and it is there for protection

Did you have to bend it to get it under the axle?

Yes, I bent it slightly. You need to be careful and not crimp it.
