difficult driving

OK,all the Co. residents, you got tough mtn driving. but let's see you drive thru one MN winter morning, with black ice, blinding snow and frozen windshield washers, where there is 18 wheeelers going sideways in front of you, and 500 acccidents that can't be cleared because even the state patrol is in the ditch! That is scary, and I drove a school bus thru that stuff for 26 yrs. That being said, Eisenhour pass sucks, and I made the better half drive Monarch! Ya gotta know your limits! joe q in Minnesnowda

What percent grades are we talking about here? Within half an hour of my house we have a lovely 12% grade we can use for practice.

You've obviously never been to Minnesota, which is an absolutely beautiful state.

Oh I've been to Minnesota. When I bought a Scamp years ago I drove across the country to get it, which was great! But then, I HAD to drive across Minnesota to actually get to Backus to pick the trailer up.

Pru-nella!!!

It was like driving across Nebraska WITHOUT all the scenery.

lol

Hey, I see what you did there...I've driven across Nebraska. The only scenery of note was the Prime Rib I had in Lincoln.

I'm assuming you mean BEFORE you ate it. Because afterward, it would look just like the rest of Nebraska...

...or Minnesota, for that "matter" (no pun intended).

It would depend on what part of Minnesota you were in.

Parts are prairie, but then there's the Northwoods, the Boundary Waters, the North Shore of Lake Superior....

How did this turn into a debate on the most scenic, worse winter driving, etc.....or best state to eat a steak?!

Mountain passes and relevant grades to expect...now, that is valuable information to all of us!

We can find beauty in any state in this great nation, even those that do not have terrible mountain passes. All of us are proud of our home state...no matter where.....
