Cheap or Free in Oklahoma

Here is my current list for Oklahoma. I don't travel there very often, so I haven't focused on finding sites. Some info may be outdated.

OKLAHOMA
For Oklahoma COE lakes and many campgrounds go to: http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/recreat/byLake.cfm

Love Travel Stops welcome overnighters free along the Interstates.

BARTLESVILLE: Johnstone Park. Take Tuxedo Blvd W off US-75 to SH-123 (Cherokee Ave). Turn right (N) across bridge. About 200 yds after bridge, turn right into park. 5 RV spots w/20 & 30 amp elec. No water or dump. $3/night ($1.50 if over 62). pay at police station at Johnstone and Henley. Water avail at spigot near softball diamond.

BLACKWELL: Fairgrounds at E Lawrence and S Main, free water, elec, dump.

CHECOTAH - TerraStarrPark. 918-689-7094. From I-40 between Okla City & Ft Smith, take HWY-69 S for 8 mi. Turn on Texanna Rd (HWY-150). Go E for 2 mi. Turn R and go 0.5 mi, turn L into park. $10.

Cordell CityPark,Cost: $10 Campsites: 10 Amenities: Water, Electric, Sewer, Dump Station, Restrooms, Open: Year Round. Description: RV camping/parking w/ elec., water and sewage dump. Shade trees, picnic table, restrooms and manicured lawn.

Durant - Choctaw Casino Free Open: All year Description

Large level parking lot, free quick shuttle to casino. Slideout no problem. Choctaw Casino-Durant is located 90 minutes north of Dallas/Ft. Worth in the heart of Texomaland. Just 12 miles north of the Red River, and three miles south of Durant on Highway 69/75. It's 10 minutes from Lake Texoma.

FT SUPPLY: Ft Supply Lake, 2 CGs with water/elec. $8. Restrooms on hill above camping area have flush toilets/showers. On other side of lake is free camping, no hookups, table/BBQ. To get to free cg, at bottom of hill, turn left at stop sign and take lower road at bottom of dam.

GUYMON: No Man's Land Park, off US-54/64, E on SH-3. Water, flush toilets,
pay shower.

KANSAS: Jean Lee RV Park 918-868-2265. From jct Cherokee Tpk & SR-10/US-59
(Kansas Exit), N 0.3 mi to CR-55.3, E 0.1 mi. 15% off daily rates-daily rates $11.

MIAMI - City park $Free behind fire station at S Main & 7th St still free. No restrooms.

OSAGE - Osage Point, about 40 mi W of Tulsa, on shores of Keystone Lake. Free parking, hot & cold showers, flush toilets, fishing.

SAYRE - City Park $10 About 20 Campsites, Max days allowed: Unknown, Scenery Rating: 3 out of 5 , Noise Level: 3 out of 5 , Amenities: Water, Electric, Dump Station . Open: All year Description : Located in the CityPark, just north of I-40, well marked. Sayre is in about 25 miles east of the Texas border on the Interstate between Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas. Very nice Park.

Sulphur
: Chickasaw National Recreation Area - The Point Campgrounds $16 for 50 amp, $10 for Tent. From I35, take Exit #55 and drive towards the city of Davis, OK. Once in Davis, go east on Highway 7. Watch for the Chickasaw National Recreation Area signs to direct you to The Point Campgrounds, Boat Ramp, and Picnic Area - Drive approximately 6 miles east of Davis and 4 miles south on Cooper Memorial Road. This loop is the southwest corner of ArbuckleLake.

THACKERVILLE: Indian Nation RV Resort, 800-568-RVER or 405-276-4411. This
is a CC Park. I-35 exit 5, and go 0.5 mi W on Hwy-153, 0.5 mi S on US-77. 50% off; reservations required-daily rates $6. Indian Nation in Thackerville is a five star
resort, not really boondocking. The $6 rate is only good if you are a Coast to Coast Club member. The little cafe in town, Kountry Kitchen, has the best French fries in the country made after you order them, from fresh spuds.

Tonkawa & Lyons Tonkawa, two miles east of I-35 just south of the Kansas line, has free parking at its city park. Each site has elec. and there is water in the park and a dump station. Stop by the police dept for a permit. They patrol the park during the night. Lyons, Kansas, also has parking in the city park w/ elec.

WEATHERFORD: Police will let you stay on their parking lot, but bright
lights bad on a hot night.

Bob,

I'd give you private kudos again, but there's a rule set up against that.....so here's some public kudos for what you do for us.....btw, how come you can slam someone with warning after warning, but you can't praise them again and again?????

Waurika lake

Another beautiful place is the Waurika Lake COE location. It is very nice and large enough that you don't feel at all crowded. I don't remember the price, but it wasn't very expensive. It was well worth it, though.
