Caution about the ones near the coast (6 southern most counties, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Stone, George). All are full up or were three weeks ago with people trying to survive after the storm and alot of workers there to assist in rebuilding are living in trailers. Some places have overbooked and are WAY over capacity. I am not trying to discourage visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast, that is home for me but the area is devistated and will be for some time. Tourism is a big part of the income for the area and the most friendly people you can find live in Mississippi.
When it returns Buccaneer State Park in Waveland is a beautiful place to camp and cheap. Nice coastal views, calm waters for the kids and good eats in local places.
Wall Doxey Park Holly Springs Ms.$14 elec and water $16 with sewage dump. Great campground I think around 60 pads with grills and fire rings. Frisbee golf very wooded area.
Also John Kyle State Park Sardis Ms. same price as above.

Probably one of the top 5 campgrounds we have enjoyed, especially if you have a watercraft. Remote (ice is miles away) and super clean. Great sites fill quickly with locals, closes for the winter mid November. Don't show up late or you'll spend the night outside the locked gates! Does have a fee -$18 if I recall.
