champion 3100W working with 15,000BTU AC

Been looking to buy a generator for awhile now. Decided to buy today with the approach of hurricane Florence, along with everybody else and their mother apparently. Only one available was the 3100 gas inverter. Was hoping for the 3500, but no luck.
I read mixed reviews whether it's enough to power my 15000btu ac. Only really need it on long road trips for future use and situations like this. I've done searches on the forums and am looking for a little reassurance is all. Thank you!

We power ours with a 2500 Westinghouse, but it has any “easy start.” And that’s all it powers when it is on, no converter, microwave, hot water.

Better to shop a bit more and get the 3400 dual fuel. As far as anybody can tell the 3400 and 3500 are the same item, just marketed differently.
