I had double the pleasure recently at a Cabela's store. The first pleasure was that it was my first time shopping at a Cabela's store and the second pleasure was we enjoyed free overnight camping in their parking lot. They also have a dump station and potable water!
I noticed on their website that if you check the store's location, it provides more information about if overnight camping is allowed (I believe it is allowed at all locations, but check the website to confirm) and if the location has a dump station.
Check out the map below and you will see that there are stores located all around the country for your free camping pleasure. The are also building the first store in Canada in Montreal!
That map looks slightly erroneous to me. I say that because the Pennsylvania store is actually located way north of where it appears on the map. I showed restraint and refrained from purchasing the
powered riding beer cooler and auxilary beer cooler trailer.
I love Cabela's they are one of the few stores that actually stock things that fit me without having to special order. I frequent the one in Owatonna, MN I have relatives in NE Iowa so we fly into MSP and ALWAYS stop at the Cabela's on the way down. The stores themselves are a sight to see.

I double checked the PA store and it is located north of the location on the first map (see the PA map detail below). IMHO -- I would treat the US map as a guideline of general locations (definitely not to scale) and then use the website to find the city/address before embarking on a road trip!

I live midway between two Cabelas in Minnesota; the one in Rogers is bigger than the one in Owatonna. Try it sometime.
A truly gigantic store is the one in Ft. Worth TX, over 225,000 sq ft!
But the largest (I think) is the one in Hamburg PA, a cool 1/4 million square feet.
I spend enough money at Cabelas to receive a hardcover catalog twice a year. They are a great company, and their customer service is second to none. Great news about the boondocking, makes a great deal that much better! Thanks.

So, please tell us...how much money does one need to spend at Cabela's to receive the hard cover "bible"?
That would be somewhere in excess of $850 per year. I have them going back to 1982!

A new Cabelas just opened in Gonzales Louisiana. I went to check it out and walked out with a new credit card, hat, $25.00 in Cabelas bucks and a used Mini 14 which is sweet.

That's just a good post. Brutal honesty. You probably could care less if they have a campground but that Mini, LOL...We have one 3 miles from us and the joke is over. This is getting serious and I might just need my own darn store since half of it's on lay-away anyway.
