Went thru ks last fall and found several places to dry camp, my favorite was a place called monument rock, south of Oakley in western ks. About 7 or 8 miles down a dirt road so make sure it's not going to rain or you may be there a while. We were just going to stop for a brief visit and ended up staying the night. Not a soul around, not a light in sight. Found some fossils and stuff. I live in mo and you can stay in mark twain forest, during deer season lots of peopleccamp on national land. One good spot is by an old fire tower off hwy76 bertwwen shell knob and cape fair. Close to table rock lake Branson eureka springs etc.
