What is this plaque holder please?

I've tried all kinds of searches to find out what this empty plaque is. My only guess would be a custom name plate for original owners.

Anyone recognize this? Do I remove and rivet the holes or just put a plate in it?

my "guess" is also name plate holder for owner. Looks period correct, like you could have a new filler plate engraved and slip in from one end?

I've seen several vintage Airstreams with original owner names and home town addresses stenciled on. My '64 has ghost of names "George and Marjorie".

If you remove and want to part with...please let me know. I'd run that....and put George and Marjorie back in place to honor them.

I was thinking the same thing

If I can figure out a way to make those 4 holes look normal, I will definitely lend you their plate

I have the same plaque on my trailer and it has the original owner's last name in metal letters inside of it. There is a plastic shield behind the metal letters and it looks like it may have lit up at some point in time.

Name plate

Here's a name plate similar to yours, scanned from a Wally Byam Stores catalog.

I plug holes on my trailer with Olympic rivets. Pop one of those babies in the 4 holes and shave the stem off and it will look like Airstream always intended to have it there. I put a little sealant on my Olympic rivets to help keep them from leaking.

Oh how cute. Thanks Forest. I'll decide later might put my Moms nickname for her in there. Someone put letters on the back end as well. I just picture those two all set up in their new airstream waving as they leave Chicago on first trip. .

4 Olympic rivets smoothed over to look like all of your other rivets. If your trailer is polished you can buff the surface revealed upon removal.....or mount a plaque of your own.
