What is This?

Sorry the picture is upside down. I don't use my awnings much but today I pulled out my streetside awnings and found this. It looks like there is a leak and water is getting between the aluminum and coating. It might be hard to see but it is blistered. Should I scrape it off? Then what? Thanks...

Blistered and peeling plasticoat. I would peel away what is blistered. That will keep it from holding water trapped against the aluminum which can accelerate corrosion. Then wax the area. You can get some clear plasticoat that you can apply back over the spot.

Airstream applies a clear plastic sheet to protect the clear coat from abrasion. If it's lifting you might try gluing it back down
