Type and thickness of exterior skin?

I have found some online but have no idea what to get. I have a '72 sovereign. Is is Alclad? I need to replace a front piece under the window. I also want the right type to match so I can polish it later. Thanks!

I have a '73 31' unit. My shop manual states that the outside skin is:

Aluminum Alclad .032 thick

To complete the list the belly pan and bananna wrap (around the bottom edges) is listed as:

Aluminum 3004 .024 thick

One place to get your aluminum is:

Airparts Inc. - check out their web site:

Two different types of Alclad?

There is 2024t3 and 2024-0. Anyone know which one I need. Thanks Malcolm.

Use 2024-T3. The T3 is hardened, T0 is dead soft.

Aluminum thickness

If it's the sheet under the front window you should use .050" as this is tied to the frame of the trailer through the "front plate", a piece of steel welded to the frame and extending up about 18". This gives the shell alot of its strength. The newer coaches use .032 for the window and roof sheets and .040 for the side sheet, and .050 for the front window sheet.

Thanks zoom, it's actually the piece just to the side of it that wraps around to the side.

Have you tried Sky River RV in Paso Robles?, they are an Airstream dealer. Ask for Ken
