Stainless Hand Rivet Squeezer??
I am in the final phases of gutting my Bambi II for floor replacement. I began taking the inner wall aluminum off last evening and am good to go on regular pop rivets, but I am struggling with whether or not to remove the buck rivets around the entrance doorway which hold the inner aluminum on. Problem is I never buck riveted before (though I know I could learn) and these are the only buck rivets I would need to replace. I don't really want to spend the money on a buck riveting setup when this is very likely the only Airstream I will ever re-do.
So I was tooling around VTS's website and looking in the riveting section and found a hand tool for setting solid rivets: Stainless Hand Rivet Squeezer.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this tool? Seems it would do the job I need it to do as the only buck rivets I need to remove and reinstall are those around the entrance doorway which are very accessible front and back. I plan to use Olympics elsewhere on the exterior shell.
Thoughts or opinions?? Thanks! Ben
