source for aluminum trim

Anybody have a source for the aluminum trim used on 74 Trade Wind. I need 8' of both the 2" bottom trim and the 1-1/4" mid level trim. Also need the blue tape. I did not see it on Either Vintage or Out of Doors Mart.

Did you try Inland RV? Andy will be able to tell you if it's available.

The rub rail (bottom) and belt line (middle) moldings come in 16 foot lengths.

They can be cut in half to minimize shipping costs.

The blue color is a vinyl insert, not a tape. This applies to a 1974 model. Tape was last used in 1971, and for 72 and 73, the inner part of the moldings were painted blue.

Andy, would the rub rail you have match the rub rail on my '72 Sovereign?

Chris.

The type moldings that were used from 1973 and back, have not been available for maybe 15 to 20 years. No one will have the exact original replacement.

You can update the trailer using the insert type, for the rub rail but the belt line molding that is now available is not as wide as the original.

Also, the present moldings, are anodized, therefore the color of the aluminum moldings is a few shades diffent than the originals.

Some owners replace all the moldings to update the coach. Some others, look for a salavged coach for a used part.

Thanks for the info Andy. I'm missing about a foot of the rub rail that goes behind the water heater. I think I'm going to cut the rear section of rub rail and patch it along the side so at least the entire side is all the same. And then do something different above the bumper. Or maybe I'll use the front piece since I'm putting a battery box on the a-frame and the rub rail will be hidden.

That will work.
