I need advice on a project. I have two 1968 30 ft sovereign land yachts. One to restore one for parts. What I would like to do transfer to front dome skin off the donor and move it to the inside of the good one. I would build it around the window first a fan it out overlapping and re-drilling and re-rivet. piece by piece. I assume that the back side of the skin can be polished just as good as the top. What do you think???

I would also like to add vista windows on the trailer The parts trailer has them. I just love working on this trailer I fall asleep at night thinking about working on it... is there a cure for this?

I think it could be polished...but there usually is sealant and tape and markings on the "backside" that would have to be removed first.

Myself and Zep actually talked about this about a year ago, but the doner trailer was sold complete so we didn't pursue it. I think it would be a fun project, but I'm a little warped. It is doable and the inside will polish up as good as the outside. You most likely would only have to drill out the center panel and move the outboard segments in by about 1 3/4". The perimeter holes could also be cut off so that you could start with edges with no holes, as the cap will be moving aft and down from it's original location by 1 3/4". After it is all fitted it would be a simple matter of drilling out the rest of the segment rivets and reversing them

No there is no known cure. Take comfort in knowing you're not alone......You're screwed...I mean riveted like the rest of us.
