I recognize this is an old post, but did you ever find a source for this side trim? I'm looking for a similar piece about 48" long.

Al,

Thanks for the response. I saw these during my ongoing search, but they're not quite the right cross section. The trim I'm after is 1" wide extruded with two "peaked" ridges about 5/8" apart. It appears to have been used in the late 60's and early 70's. As I indicated, I'm going to need a piece about 48" long, but I could piece together some straight pieces if needed.

With a little luck, I'll be taking the bad section off soon and can post a couple of better photos.

I'll keep looking but appreciate the help.

Roy

Al,

I enlarged the original post and noticed that some of the trim on mrrealtor's trailer was replaced from original. Now, I'm thinking, if I can't find the original trim, I could replace the trim on one entire side with the second one you posted.

Thanks again,

Roy

Yea, I know that this trim is sold by some online retailers but its sold in 8' or 16' lengths. I would just hate to buy that much only needing about 15" of it.

Have you contacted Camper Repair (http://www.camperrepaircenter.com)? They have a ware house full of older parts.

Look for an AC unit

Hi,

I also need to replace some of this trim on my 1974 Overlander. I just pulled down the original AC unit and it has a band of the same trim strip around it. I'm ditching the AC unit so I'm just re-purposing that strip to repair the missing section.

Thought I'd mention it in case you can find an old AC unit for cheap/free. There was about 9 feet of it up there!

Cheers

canadianair,

Thanks for the tip. I'm still searching and will also watch for old AC units.

Thanks for the tip, although when I replaced my '72 air conditioner there was not any trim

I would not ditch that bay breeze ac. It's rebuildable and reliable also loud and ugly.
