Having the rivets you will find more uses than you imagined. I liken it to the old adage, when you are holding a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Once I decide to pay the freight on an order form Inland or Airstream Dreams I almost always add a bag of olympics to it. They weigh next to nothing and then I never run out.

good one brett!

follow the advice and get extras.

not everyone (rivet) is perfect, or pulls tight the first time.

you'll get a couple culls in every bag.

Agree with everyone. You start looking and finding more things to rivet. I could spend days doing it. They replaced the old Armstrong unit with a Coleman and put screws in the holes. Rusty screws. I don't know how many I never counted them, but I will be busy for a while A few odds n ends repairs done by the PO's with pop rivets need to be redone. Rivets, you can never have enough of them.

Remember the first time you use the tool it is paid for and the rest it's life its Free. Buy the rivets and the tool. If you really don't believe this sell it at the flea market at the international, then you can get in before the crowd. If you are at all like my husband you keep them alll. You know it won't be your only Airstream.

Steel rivets

Some PH used a lot of them on our AS, they are rusting and hard to get out, some of the hole are double wide so I will have to use backing washers on both sides to get them to hold, I also have four bolts under the front window that were used for something.

I have found a source for rivets, cleco sheet holders and cleco plyrs just need to know what is the standard size of rivets used in the outter shell of the a/s construction. Another good questions is has anyone replaced any external solid rivets and how did you go about doing it without removal of an internal panel?

Thanks
Greg
