Rivets?

Ok, i'm sure this question has been asked before, and given it's a newbie question for sure, so here goes: 1) on interior rivets what is the procedure for removing? Do you center punch the center of the rivet, then drill it out, and if so, what size drill do you use? (We have a 63 Overlander 26' that needs a lot of tlc) 2) I will try to take a picture of interior to clarify situation, but it appears to me that there are small repair panels which have been riveted/patched in, especially as you go inside the door and immediately to your left. Because this as has been modified drastically I don't have a clue how it was originally arranged, except that I think it probably was a twin bed model, with a rear bath. Does anyone have a 26' '63 Overlander with twin beds that they could send me some pics of the interior? If so, any pics email to me would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard!

Rivets = basically you drill out the old ones and replace them with new ones as needed. The size of the drill bit will vary, especailly on a patch, depending on what the PO did to repair/patch the section you are talking about. (pics will help) normally a 1/8" - 5/32" is used, but if the PO overdrilled the holes or used a bigger rivet, yours could vary.

In the upper right blue bar of this page, you will see a "Search" button. Click it, type in a few key words and many similar threads will pop-up.

As far as identifying the original layout of your trailer, check this out:

There are several '63 O'landers represented there.

Good luck with your repairs..happy posting!
