Rivet Tutorial

Hey guys, hopefully y'all can help. I'm looking for resources on riveting, and after about an hour of searching online and not really finding anything that applicable to me, I've decided to come here. Has there already been a thread that gives a tutorial on rivets? i.e. what is a "pop" rivet? How does it differ from buck rivets? Where are each used? What tools are required for each? Also, specifically, what size rivets were used interior/exterior in the late '70s Argosy (and I assume also Airstream) and what size drill bits are req'd for drilling them out...

As you can guess, I am a COMPLETE rivet novice. Any input at all is welcome!!

Do you need to use any sealant when riveting in areas exposed to water in any of these applications?

For exterior buck riveting, no sealant is needed since the rivet "fills in" the hole. If you use Olympic pop rivets on the exterior, however, you need a dab of vulkem to provide a good watertight seal.
