Rivet Replacement

Airstream store has the Rivet kit for $145 and the Rivet kit with shaver for $395.

Several rivets in my 2012 flying cloud have "popped" out.

My question is "Should I buy the Rivet kit with Shaver or just the Rivet Kit"; & will I need the Shaver in the future"?

You can install those rivets yourself, at a fraction of what you're talking about.

Your trailer is in warranty so call tech support, and I suspect they'll send you a packet of rivets. And ask them if they could send you a couple of pieces of small aluminum to drill holes and practice with.

Riveting is a pretty straight forward process, and there are plenty of YouTube instructional videos out there on how to do it.

You can get a rivet gun at Lowes or HD for less than $10.

Are you talking about interior rivets with the hole in the center...or exterior rivets which are larger and no holes?

We bought the same rivet gun shown in the kit at Sears along with a selection of rivets to replace random interior rivets...and it was nowhere near $395. (We've never had an exterior rivet "pop"...)
