Replace random screws with buck rivets ?

I have the interior skins removed on a 1963 and getting the last touches on buck riveting the exterior skin repairs.

I am noticing a grundle (a lot, took some pic's but no real point in posting, just clusters of rusty screws) of random sheet metal screws that where used for one thing or another in the past, but now just seem to be plugging holes in the exterior skin

On the one hand the holes are now probably random diameters and a proper rivet cannot be put in, but on the other hand if I put a buck rivet in, it would have no structural function than filling a hole for external cosmetics

Any thoughts on wether it's worth the trouble just to get rid of these hideous screws?

Get rid of them, they will keep rusting and staining the skin. Now is the time to buck rivet them and forget about ever having to deal with them again.

AKtundra, I've got a few of the same. I figured I will buck rivet those as well while the inner skin is off. Which is the best time to do it!

Just remember to seal them with Vulkem and not deform the outter skin trying to collapse the rivet further than the thickness of the rivet calls for.
