Placing Name on Trailer

I'd like to place the name of our trailer on the outside near the entry door. I want it to look tasteful, well-done and long-lasting. Is this best done by some sort of paint job? A custom decal? A more permanent metal plate?

Any and all ideas would be appreciated!

Kelly & Matt - good old WWII "nose art" is such a neat idea. Lin and I couldn't figure a way to do it in way we liked. As a stop-gap, we had a decal of our avatar, the Silver Otter, made by my son and we've placed her on the back window. Now anyone following the Otter will know it's us. We may yet figure out the nose art thing. My Dad was a Navigator on B-29s out of the South Pacific. I'd love to do it somehow.

Hmmmmm. That's a good idea!!

I just got my WBCCI numbers put on a vinyl static decal done by Squire Designs. They do this for race cars and other applications. Outstanding customer service, great product. Highly recommended here!!! Check out their site an see if you think they could help. Ask for Mike or Rita. Good luck!

Suggest you go with a decal at first, because that lets you experiment with design, size, and placement until you get it exactly the way you want it.

THEN, when you've got what you want, take the trailer to whoever you trust to paint on the name, and tell him, "Make it look exactly like this."

Etched glass

I think that image would look cool as an etched glass piece. Maybe backlit in some way. Just a thought. Similar to this image

I have the same number for both Air Forum and WBCCI. Did I want RED or did I want BLUE; but I didn't want both so I had my numbers done in vinyl by a sign company using the good old RED WHITE AND BLUE in flag. We have our name in black with Johnson in script and our names in block and located curb side to the front.
I get questioned about the numbers as to what the color means.

Mike

And how did I miss the fact that Air Forums has numbers too???

Here are my WBCCI numbers on a single decal by Squire Designs and below that is my AirForums decal on my truck. The blue decal is on my AS bumper but I didn't grab a pic...

Our dear Lucy has her name proudly displayed right next to her door. Her name is done in vinyl die cut lettering. You can get this made at most local sign shops for a reasonable cost.
