How many hundred are you planning to buy? THAT is "wholesale". You can buy a hundred at a discount, and sell them to the rest of us at cost.

If by chance, if you have not seen one of the shavers at work, here is a small video of the installation of an olympic rivet and dressing of the rivet by the shaver.
Click here to see the video.
Also for those one time panel repair people, we are starting rental program for the saver. We are trying to reduce the cost of a repair, on a tool you may only use one time.
Click here to see the shaver.
Please read the terms on the shaver

Ah, so I did. (make a post on this previously, I had forgotten about it)
Posting this followup (to post #23 2005-Oct 6th) ('cause someone asked).
The tool from aircraft-tool.com:
Rivets | Aircraft Tool Supply
works well. Just need to be careful to hold it firmly atop the rivet head and then bring the drill in spinning. So long has you hold the tool in place with a little more force, than you apply to the drill, you're good. Also need to make sure the tool is clean of aluminum shavings after each use. Most of the time the tool ends up clean. Occasionally you need pull some shavings out, but it's no big deal. Hope this helps.

Olympic rivet removal and installation

Please note that the rivet in question was a trouble rivet, which didn't want to expand properly. Cutting of a leg of a rivet reduces its strenght and should normally be avoided.
Since the mandrel broke inside, I didn't have to use a sharp nail punch prior to drilling.

Olympic rivets are used on the exterior.
Pop rivets are used in the interior.
Depending on what your working on, in the interior, colored pop rivets are available.

Drilling rivets
Avery Tool Company, they specialize in tools for aircraft, has a tool that goes over the head of rivets and centers them for drilling. Don't remember how much. Avery has a web site, sorry I don't know how to set up a link. A great place for clecos and other items used fixing aluminum be it on the ground or in the air.

Rivet Shaver
I bought one of these $200 rivet shavers a few years ago. I had to return it because the runout of the bit was so bad it would bind up even when turned by hand. The replacement that I received was slightly better but the quality of the product is extremely poor. If there was any competition they would be out of business in a heart beat. I have several similar tools that do not have any runout problems. Perhaps I got the only two bad tools but I don't quite see how that could happen.

Please be advised that there are several different manufacturers of rivet shavers.
I don't believe as a whole, they should all be crucified, by your misfortune with one of them.
It would be most helpful to others, if you posted the "brand name" of the shavers you bought.
Thanks.

Olympic rivets are an "after market" rivet, that's used when replacing missing exterior rivets, or doing exterior metal work.
There is only one size available, and they have a 5/32" diameter.
DO NOT use any olympics that use washers.
Always use a good sealer under the rivet head, before you insert it into the rivet hole. Vulkem or Par-bond sealers work fine for that purpose.
You can pull Olympic rivets, just like a pop rivet, if you have a decent pop rivet tool.
You then snip the pin off, then grind the pin down with a Dremel tool, or use a small file. This works very well and saves you from buying a "shaver" which costs in excess of $200.00.
