Ok! So, I didn't see the tree.

A little damage to the exterior skin and awning support. It was self-inflicted. I live in eastern iowa and need a recommendation for skin replacement. Anyone have experience in this region? You know, insurance only pays once.

Bang, you're about 517 miles from Jackson Center, OH? You're chances of having it fixed As Good As New is very likely with the Airstream Service Center.

Repairs in Iowa

US Adventure RV, in Davenport, has people trained to replace body panels. I saw them working on a classic aluminum Motor Home when I was there last year.

When I had some body damage from a miscreant fence post on my Overlander, I had no question where I would take it for the necessary bodywork. The shop isn't too far from your location, and they have years of Airstream experience and continue as an authorized Airsream Service Center. Ace Fogdall RV in Cedar Falls, Iowa has an excellent shop, and they did a wonderful job repairing the side panel damage on my Overlander . . . the new panel cannot be distinguished from the originals . . . even after the coach was polished and Plasticoated by P & S Trailer Service in Helena, Ohio.

Good luck with your quest for a quality repair shop!

Kevin

Don't be so quick to blame yourself. It may well be that the tree moved and actually hit you. I know that was the case in my last adventure.

Been there. Done that. The pain is far worse when self inflicted.

Oh, did I hear someone say - pictures?

Yes, pictures are a must. Makes us all feel better about the repairs we have made due to our own adventures.

Or, in my case the AS bit the back of the TV ... in a tighter than expected turning / backing maneuver ...

from the guy who didn't see the tree....

Thanks for the comic relief and recommendations. I had the necessary repairs completed at Ace Fogdall in Cedar Falls, Iowa (replacement of four skin panels, a rock guard and awning support). I now know why overlander64 didn't hesitate to recommend them. Joel is an artist in metalwork; Pam just great in service! Sideswipe a Burger King? Tow into a parking deck? No Problem for these guys.
