What clause in the policy is the insurance company using to take that position? If they do end up not paying they don't get the trailer to salvage.

Looking at your trailer and the panels that could be saved you might want to keep and eye out for the many trailers that show up with tree damage.

My guess.....

No comprehensive coverage on the trailer, and the business insurance will not pay on the trailer because it is personal property that is not specified on endorsed on the business policy.

My guess is that if the trailer had belonged to a customer it would be covered, but as personal property of the proprietor it is not.
