Main door catch rivet.

Hi, I am new to rivets and wrenching on Airstreams. I was going to cut my teeth on replacing the main door catch which has rusted out. Can someone give me an idea of which rivet and size to use for this based on the picture? Also, maybe what drill bit size to use as well? Thanks

Nobody?

OK, so if no one knows could someone suggest a kit of rivets I should get for my '67 Overlander? Maybe someone sells a package of all the sizes you might need? Thanks

Should be a standard 1/8 inch pop rivet with a short grip range. A 1/8 drill bit will drill make short work of removing the old rivets. Put a little dab of sealant on the new rivets before you insert them and set them with the rivet gun.

Cool thanks! What type of sealant do you suggest? Is there a certain brand of rivet I should use? Thanks

A squirt of Parbond in the hole/on the rivet. And an aluminum rivet.

Parbond, Vulkem, even gutter seal will all work but not silicone. You don't need a lot just a little dab will do you.

I need to do this as well! Do you remember, did you also replace the little catch piece that is on the actual door? If you did, what type of rivet did you use? Wondering what to do since on my 69, it's riveted in the door edge, so the rivets need to be short and flat on the inside.
