Look under here and tell me what's wrong

Would you please look at the under belly metal of this unit and tell me if it looks scary? I'm looking for a unit like this, but I don't know about the belly. The seller has written to me about it and says it's normal for the age.

Airstream Excella 1000---34 Ft Great Condition!!!!:eBay Motors (item 270424953287 end time Jul-18-09 17:49:59 PDT)

Thanks! Anne Connors

The listing was removed.

If an underbelly is beatup or hanging loose in some areas, it is not normal.

That to me, would suggest neglet and/or abuse.

I would look for other faults.

What owners usually rate the condition of an older Airstream, many times leaves considerable room, in their definition of "good shape."

That link works perfect. See the belly???

Is it rust that will effect the integerity of the frame?

connorsa,
That seam is where the belly pan meets the lower wraps and that picture looks pretty much like our '87 34's belly. As for frame integrity, you will not be able to tell it from that picture. To get a the "full picture" of the frame condition the belly pan would have to be dropped.

The belly looks like it's been exposed to salt water.
