Lay some skin on me brotha !!

I am helping a friend do some repairs on a 62 Bam. We will be needing some small pieces of vintage alum to cover up some nasty blow out tears.

Looking for maybe a 3'X3' section. Anybody got some vintage skin??

And yes I'll be polishing it.

It's what happens when you blow up a Bambi too big!!!

Sorry... couldn't help m'self!

Nah... seriously, when a tire fails at speed, the tire parts that remain attached to the carcass beat the inside of the wheel wells really badly. Typically the skin over and around the wheel well can be severely damaged by tread flapping at 60mph.

Blowout

As in tire blow out,

That can cause damage to the surounding wheel well area.

Why don't you just buy new skin - it has not changed at all.....

What you need is a piece of .040" 2024-t3 aluminum.Easy to order online or try a metal recycler near your local big airport.

I am re-skinning a streetside sheet on 'the 'Puff' in about a month if you're willing to wait. I'll have a decent section that large. But ,yes, new 2024 is good too, and maybe more local!

2024??

Sorry but I can't wait till then!! Unless you could transport some from the future!! Now seriously the owner and I would prefer vintage alum ... if nothing else to match the polishing effort and "patina".

If the trailer is polished the new Alclad 2024 will match.
